Colin Cunningham, born August 20, 1966 in Los Angeles, California, United States, is an American actor.

Childhood

He is the son of Kay Cunningham and Willie John Hanna. He has a sister named Lorraine and a brother, Ron.

Career

After playing several roles in the theater, he chose to turn to cinema by moving to Vancouver, Canada, where he still resides today. He wrote the screenplay for the film Zacharia Farted, in which he played the main role and which he produced in 1998.

He then joined the series Coroner Da Vinci , playing Detective Brian Curtis for 33 episodes, a role for which he received an award. In 1997, he auditioned for the role of Daniel Jackson in the series Stargate but ultimately landed the role of Major Davis, a regular character in the series.

He wrote and directed a short film, Centigrade, in which he also starred. For this thriller, he won two Leo Awards at the 2008 ceremony.

In 2008, like several members of the Stargate cast, he appeared in the series Sanctuary with Amanda Tapping. He played the role of Gerald, the husband of biologist Rachel, one of Henry Foss’s friends.

In 2012, he landed a role as John Pope, a good guy/bad guy in Steven Spielberg’s new series: Falling Skies .
