Colin Bates , born August 17, 1990 in Pasadena, California, is an actor, singer, dancer, musician, screenwriter and producer with dual British and American nationality.

Childhood

Colin is the son of Robert Bates, who is British, and Donna Bates, an American.
From the age of 7, he trained at the prestigious Royal Ballet School in London, then grew up in Pennsylvania and at 9, he attended the South Bay Ballet Company in California.
Later, he studied at the Baltimore School for the Arts, graduating in 2008, and then graduated from the Julliard School, the Conservatory of Music and Performing Arts in New York, in 2010.

Career

Colin Bates is a chameleon-like artist who performs in New York, London, Paris, and Los Angeles. In addition to being a talented actor, he is also a screenwriter, director, and producer.
In addition to film and television, he regularly performs on stage in London and the United States, and played guitar in the musical group Aélios between 2016 and 2018.

He began his career in the musical Billy Elliot: The Musical with music by Elton Jones in which he played the title role in London in 2005.
Since he speaks French, he participated in many French productions including the film: L a Prière which received the Silver Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival.
He also appeared in many short films including: NiceTalking to You in which he played the lead role in sign language.
He also had guest-star roles in many series but in 2018, director Jan Kounen offered him the lead role in the mini-series : The Show.
In 2021, he made an appearance in the series The Blacklist.

Privacy

Although he loves London because of his paternal heritage, New York for its energy and Paris for its architecture, he lives mainly in Los Angeles because he is close to nature and that is where he learns his roles best.
