Colin Donnell, born October 9, 1982 in Saint Louis, Missouri, is an American actor.

Childhood

Colin is the youngest of three brothers.

From the age of 17, he took guitar and singing lessons. He took his first steps on stage in high school where he was part of the choir. He also did juggling and circus tricks. He then graduated from Indiana University in 2005.

Career

Colin is well known for his performances in theater, including on Broadway. He has starred in well-known plays such as Mamma Mia! and Wicked. He has since appeared in numerous plays and musicals such as Follies, The Song of the Missouri, and Anything Goes. The latter earned him a Drama Desk Award nomination .

In 2011, he made his television debut in the series Pan Am where he played the character Mike Ruskin for 4 episodes. He then made appearances in several series such as Person of Interest, The Affair, The Mysteries of Laura …

In September 2012, he joined the cast of the series Arrow in the lead role of Tommy Merlyn, Oliver Queen’s best friend. While his character was a regular in the first season, he made guest appearances in subsequent seasons.

In 2014 and 2015, he played Scotty Lockhart in the drama series The Affair .

In November 2015, he landed a starring role again in Dick Wolf’s new series, Chicago Med . He played the role of Dr. Connor Rhodes , which he reprised in the two spin-off series, Chicago PD and Chicago Fire .

Privacy

In 2013, he met Patti Murin. Colin proposed and they married on June 19, 2015.

Patti also guest stars on the series Chicago Med. For filming purposes, they reside in Chicago and return to New York during the hiatus.

In February 2020, they announced they were expecting their first child, a daughter, in July. Cecily Philips Donnell was born on July 14, 2020.
