Andrés Ramón Negrón left without paying after eating two sandwiches inside a Shell station store, according to an arrest report obtained by WPLG. A homeless man allegedly spat at a Florida police officer and then head-butted another officer as he was arrested for stealing two sandwiches from a gas station, police said.
The 31-year-old suspect ended up returning to the same Coral Gables station a short time later for an energy drink that led to a confrontation with a store worker, police alleged. He allegedly knocked over the drink and hit the employee in the back of the head, according to police, WPLG reported.
But his alleged violent streak was only beginning. After leaving the store again, he was pulled over and detained by a police officer, according to the arrest report. When one of the officers tried to put Negrón in the back of a patrol car, the alleged perpetrator spat at the officer three times and elbowed him twice, authorities alleged. He then allegedly head-butted another police officer before he was finally taken to the local correctional facility.
Negrón, who is homeless, faces charges of assault on a police officer, assault and petty theft, WPLG reported. He is also charged with violating probation he was on and has been in jail since Monday on $12,000 bail.
