Micheline Roquebrune is the wife of Sean Connery. He was a Scottish actor and producer. He was best known as the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films (every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, plus Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again) between 1962 and 1983.
Connery was in smaller theatre and television productions until he got his break with the Bond films. He became a major actor with the success of his Bond role. His films also included Marnie (1964), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Highlander (1986), The Name of the Rose (1986), The Untouchables (1988), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990), Dragonheart (1996), The Rock (1996), and Finding Forrester (2000). Connery retired from acting in 2006.
His achievements include one Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. He received a lifetime achievement award in the US with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1999. Connery was knighted in the 2000 New Year Honours for services to film drama.
Many actors have played the role of James Bond since Connery, with varying degrees of success, but he was the first actor to inhabit the role and, as such, to many, he will always be the true James Bond.
Variety describes how Connery’s choice as Bond was controversial at first because he won the role as a relative unknown without a screen test.
According to BBC, he starred in seven James Bond movies. Of course, he also starred in a slew of other well-known Hollywood movies, including The Hunt for Red October, Highlander, and Indiana Jones.
He won an Oscar for The Untouchables.
Connery held many jobs before becoming an actor, according to IMDB: He worked as “a milkman, lorry driver, a laborer, artist’s model for the Edinburgh College of Art, coffin polisher and bodybuilder.”

The 007 star was married to his petite wife Micheline Roquebrune for over 40 years until he passed away on October 31, 2020. Micheline Roquebrune, born in 1929, was Sean Connery’s wife of over 40 years. Connery married the Moroccan-French painter in 1975 after meeting her five years earlier.
The pair met at a golf tournament in Morocco in 1970. She had been married twice before and Sean had already split from his first wife Diane Cilento.Micheline revealed the pair hit it off – and romped within 24 hours of meeting.
Sean said: “In the early days it was difficult for us to see each other. She was still living in North Africa with her children.”
Micheline is a painter and creates her work using “simplified forms, unexpected croppings and changes of scale”. She has diverse interests, and also produces plays. Her Broadway play Art earned a Tony Award. Micheline is a keen golfer, and she often plays golf with her husband Sean Connery.
She was part of the crew on her husband’s 1983 James Bond film Never Say Never Again. The couple lived on New Providence Island in the Bahamas.

Bond producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli told Variety that Connery “was and shall always be remembered as the original James Bond whose indelible entrance into cinema history began when he announced those unforgettable words, ‘The name’s Bond… James Bond.’”
Jason Connery, the actor’s son, told BBC that his dad had been “unwell for some time.” He also has a son named Stephane.
Jason told BBC on October 31 that his father “had many of his family who could be in the Bahamas around him” and died overnight.
He said: “We are all working at understanding this huge event as it only happened so recently, even though my dad has been unwell for some time. A sad day for all who knew and loved my dad and a sad loss for all people around the world who enjoyed the wonderful gift he had as an actor.”

The cause of death was not clear, but his son said he had suffered health issues for some time.
