Disturbing footage obtained by The Post shows a cold-blooded gunman killing the life of a 21-year-old man inside a Bronx deli.
In the chilling 14-second surveillance video, the killer, dressed in a white tank top, denim shorts and sneakers, and a shoulder bag, emerges from the back of the BH gourmet Deli in Fordham just after midnight. 4 pm Friday and he opens fire on his target standing on the counter.
The gunman steps forward and repeatedly pulls the trigger of the firearm as his victim collapses to the floor on his back, legs shaking, according to the images. The clip shows a person talking on a cell phone running for cover at the deli. Officers were responding to an assault call at the deli on Bainbridge Avenue near Coles Lane when they found the victim, identified by police as Jayquan Lewis. He was pronounced dead at St. Barnabas Hospital. Police are still searching for the gunman, saying the 17-year-old was shot in the left hip on the third floor of Baisley Park Houses on Foch Boulevard in southern Jamaica, just before 4 p.m. The teen said he was approached by a stranger who opened fire, according to police. An investigation is ongoing. About an hour later, a 27-year-old woman was shot on Farmers Boulevard and 143rd Street in Springfield Gardens, Queens, according to sources.
The victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital and she was expected to survive, sources said, adding that detectives were searching the area for suspects. In Brooklyn, a 22-year-old man and a 38-year-old man were shot in the leg on a Bushwick street just before 4 p.m., sources said.
Three suspects were taken into custody after they were seen fleeing the scene off 1319 Halsey Street in a Dodge Caravan, according to sources. About three hours later, in the Bronx, a 28-year-old man was shot in the back during an argument outside 1650 Topping Avenue in Claremont, sources said. He was taken to Lincoln Hospital and his condition was not immediately known.
Police were searching the area for video, according to sources. The series of shootings followed a bloody night in the Big Apple that left two dead, including a man killed in a Queens karaoke bar.
