River Oaks Police Chief Christopher Spieldenner called the case “absolutely tragic. There is nothing worse than this,” Spieldenner told the Star-Telegram. “This is one of the most traumatic calls that police officers, dispatchers, and callers can participate in. It is extremely emotional and not only for the police department but also for the community and this family. It is absolutely tragic, ”he told reporters.
The boy is being held at the Lynn W. Ross Juvenile Detention Center. He has a detention hearing next week.
