Emma Tetewsky had disappeared near a local pond in southeastern Massachusetts. A Massachusetts woman who had been missing for a week was discovered alive Monday at a state park by hikers who found her stuck in the mud.

Hikers traveling through Borderland State Park Monday night were able to find 31-year-old Tetewsky, according to a Facebook update from the Stoughton Police Department.

Hikers called Easton police after they were unable to help her because she had been stuck in the mud for several days; Officers then used ATVs to pull her out of her.

Emma Tetewsky Missing – Found Alive

In the statement, it is stated that “Emma was conscious and alert and she was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for observation.” According to a news release from the Stoughton Police Department, Tetewsky was last observed by locals on June 26 near Lakewood Drive and Pinewood Pond, also known as Harrison’s Pond.

The family reported that Tetewsky disappeared the next day after last seeing her near her Stoughton home on June 25. Tetewsky may not have eaten or drunk water, according to Stoughton Police Chief Donna McNamara. Although police did not suspect foul play in Tetewsky’s disappearance, they were “concerned for her health and well-being.”

According to McNamara, she “is known to go for walks frequently, she doesn’t have a cell phone and she doesn’t have any money right now.”

In the days after Tetewsky’s alleged disappearance, employees searched the wooded regions near Pinewood Pond with dogs and foot patrols, according to McNamara. She continued, adding that sonar, helicopters and drones were used in the hunt.

“There have been so many agencies involved in the search for Emma over the last week. We thank everyone involved,” the Stoughton Police Department said in a statement. “The public never gave up hope that she would be located safely. She could not have been located without the help of the public.”
