David Portnoy Wiki – David Portnoy Biography

David Portnoy is an American internet celebrity, blogger, and founder of the sports and pop culture blog Barstool Sports. After graduating in 1999, Portnoy moved to Boston and began working at the Yankee Group, an IT market research firm.

After four years, Portnoy left the Yankee Group to start what would eventually become Barstool Sports. Peter Chernin’s The Chernin Group purchased a majority stake in Barstool on January 7, 2016, and it was announced that the headquarters would be relocated to New York City. In 2020, Penn National Gaming purchased a 36% stake in Barstool Sports from the founders for $ 163 million, including $ 135 million in cash and $ 28 million in non-voting convertible preferred shares of Penn. After the sale, The Chernin Group maintains a 36% stake in the company, while Portnoy continues to manage the site and retain creative control over the content.

On the site, Portnoy gradually cultivated his personality as “The President”, a frank and outspoken character. His writing was well received by young people and the publication subsequently became a pillar of sibling culture. He became known for his unabashed and unapologetic attitude and has faced criticism for blog posts and derogatory comments towards women and others.

Portnoy has been arrested twice in NFL-related incidents: first on May 12, 2015, when he was arrested by New York City police after he and three Barstool employees handcuffed each other on the floor of NFL headquarters to protest Deflategate, and again in 2019 when he was placed in a holding cell at Mercedes-Benz Stadium during a portion of Super Bowl LIII. In the latest incident, he had created fake passes to attend a press event the day before and was banned from attending the game.

David Portnoy Dated Women in Past

Things are not looking too good for David Portnoy now. The internet celebrity is currently facing damning accusations of sexual misconduct, which he has vehemently denied. In an article for Business Insider, three women have accused Portnoy of having rough sex and filming them without consent, accusations he has linked to “the culture of cancellation of awakening.”

The accusations against Portnoy have emerged just weeks after Pheonix Suns owner Robert Sarver was accused of sexism and racism. In August, former ABC executive Michael Corn was sued for sexual assault, highlighting the company’s role in covering up the matter. Days before that, SNL alumnus Horatio Sanz was accused of grooming an underage fan. All three men have denied the allegations, but face varying degrees of being “canceled” for the allegations.

It seems that canceling culture is exactly what Portnoy also fears. “People hate me because I interviewed Trump or I follow Tucker Carlson … The culture of cancellation of awakening wants to cancel me,” he said in a Twitter video. Amid the controversy, here’s a look at Portnoy’s past girlfriends and why none of their relationships stuck.

David’s first known girlfriend was ‘Barstool Sports First Lady’ Renee Satterthwaite. The duo first met in 2005 and got engaged three years later. In 2009, they got married while Renee was helping David run Barstool Sports backstage. However, they broke up in January 2017, reportedly after Portnoy was caught having an affair with fitness instructor Jordyn Hamilton. However, that was not the narrative that Portnoy shared, rather he said, “He was mutual. There was nothing murky on either side.”

Shortly after they broke up, Portnoy went public with his relationship with Hamilton, but sadly it wasn’t for long. They parted ways shortly thereafter in a very public dispute after Hamilton was caught cheating with another fitness instructor. Despite the scandal, it seems the two of them moved on rather quickly. In February 2021, he was associated with 24-year-old Shannon St. Clair, a former Philadelphia Eagles cheerleader. Neither has publicly confirmed their relationship, but Portnoy has reportedly been spotted in several of St. Clair’s posts on social media.

However, it seems that the relationship was another failed one. Since March, Portnoy has been seen dating Colombian model Silvana Mojica. The duo have been spotted on each other’s social media, and it was even reported that they recently got matching tattoos. It is not clear if they are actually a couple, as Portnoy has been seen with a large number of women recently, which is what leads to the allegations of sexual misconduct.

‘It was so hard that I felt like they were raping me’

Among the many women, Portnoy has dated, three have filed convictions. A woman, identified by the pseudonym Madison, was 20 years old when she met Portnoy. Ella madison claims that she bought him a ticket to Nantucket, where she performed oral sex on him. Madison also claimed that Portnoy videotaped the encounter, without her permission. She didn’t say anything at the time because she was “scared”. Later, she texted a friend: “It was so hard I felt like I was being raped, she videotaped me, spat in my mouth, and strangled me so hard I couldn’t breathe.”

Another woman made similar accusations, saying that she was strangled during her sex and videotaped. A third, identified by Allison’s nickname, told Insider that Portnoy “kicked me out” after they had sex, which she said was “really aggressive.” Allison was only 19 at the time and the encounter led to her being hospitalized with suicidal thoughts.

In response, Portnoy took to Twitter with a video to say, “I’m scared because they’re asking for more. They’re asking on the internet, ‘Tell us bad stories about Dave Portnoy.’ Well, guess what? A lot of people hate me. “In his 10-minute spiel, he said he was speaking against the advice of his lawyers. It is unclear if any of the women will press charges.
