PSV Eindhoven striker Cody Gakpo has requested that Antony’s upcoming move to Ajax not affect his future, and the Dutchman claims to have plenty of offers on the table. The 23-year-old striker still has four years to go but should leave PSV this summer before falling to Rangers in the ability to fit into this season’s Champions League.
His admirers include United, who have agreed to pay €100m to sign another Eredivisie star in Antony, but United’s specialists have also been looking for Gakpo and have not blocked the move for either.
After Sunday’s 6-1 win over Excelsior, in which Gakpo racked up a goal and two assists, the Dutchman praised Antony for his trade and revealed that he expects a reaction on his future soon. “A great moment for [Antony]… however, for me and my future, I feel like that has no effect,” Gakpo told ESPN.
“It looks like a puzzle, so in the next few days I’ll see which puzzle fits best. Taking everything into account, it would definitely not be terrible to stay at PSV. We’ll see.” Gakpo, who said he had ‘a couple of decisions’, will then see if United are a surefire contender for his brand.

“In all honesty,” the striker said. “I listen to everything. I try hard to focus and not focus on it, but that’s troublesome.” 90min captures Arsenal, Leeds, Southampton and Nottingham Forest have all spoken to PSV about Gakpo finally in the middle of the year, with the Dutch side concentrating that they would prefer not to part with the striker.
Regardless, PSV’s European fate was continually expected to be a critical part of Gakpo’s future, and with the Dutch team failing to qualify, interest in him has increased.
