Caitlyn Kaufman Wiki – Caitlyn Kaufman Biography
Caitlyn Kaufman is formerly from Chicora, Pennsylvania, a small town in Butler County, 50 miles northeast of Pittsburgh. Her whole life, her mother said, she dreamt of moving to Nashville.
“She was determined to get here,” said her mother, who drove down from the family’s hometown on Friday. “It was the city of her dreams.”
Kaufman moved to the West Meade suburb of Nashville in 2018 after she accepted a job at the hospital. It was her first nursing job after graduating from Clarion University of Pennsylvania in 2016 then Butler County Community College.
She was an award-winning nurse who, most recently, worked on the frontlines caring for COVID-19 patients.
In October, she moved to Lebanon to be closer to friends, her mother Diane Kaufman told The Tennessean.
In addition to her 221-pound Great Dane Zeus, Kaufman loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Penguins. Her hobbies included boating, wakeboarding and water skiing.
“She had a great work ethic,” her mother said. “She was studious, she was determined and she was truly just a beautiful person from the inside and outside.”

Family
Kaufman’s mother said she spoke with her daughter on the day she died. She said her daughter was on her way straight from home to work.
“She was very regimented,” her mother said. “She sounded perfect… tired but that’s because she had worked the night before,”
Fatally shot on way to work
Police believe Kaufman was likely killed between 6 and 6:30 p.m. while she was on her way to work for a midnight shift that began at 7 p.m.
A Metro Parks officer discovered Kaufman in her vehicle when he stopped around 9 p.m. Thursday to investigate why her vehicle was parked on the right shoulder of I-440W, believing it was a single-car crash.
When he got out of his car, he discovered Kaufman, who was shot at least once.
Police department spokesman Don Aaron said Kaufman died quickly from her injuries but that her body was in the car for hours.
Kaufman’s mother said she spoke with her daughter on the day she died. She said her daughter was on her way straight from home to work.
Suspect
No arrests have been made as of Monday and no suspect was identified by police.
Investigators have been chasing down leads after multiple tips were submitted to Crime Stoppers. MNPD Detective Chris Dickerson is working to develop leads with a team of investigators.
A motive still remains under investigation in Kaufman’s slaying.

Kaufman’s mother said her daughter had no enemies.
“It was the wrong place at the wrong time,” her mother said. “I don’t know what causes someone to do something like that. She was on her way to work to take care of people… people she didn’t know. It’s just senseless to me.”
“Please if you know who did this or know any information, please reach out,” said her aunt, Glenda Lee Kaufman. “We will not rest, until this person is brought to justice for taking our loving Caitlyn.”
