Six people died in a house fire in Green Pond, South Carolina, on Sunday, and one person was seriously injured, according to the county sheriff, who also reports that authorities have opened a murder investigation.

Around 11 a.m. m. Sunday, officers responded to reports of a fire on Folly Creek Lane and discovered the bodies, according to a news release from the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office. The patient was transferred to a nearby hospital.
