Search and rescue mission coordinator Kevin Cooper said in a statement: “The Coast Guard has made the difficult decision to suspend the active search for the passenger aboard Quantum of the Seas.”
The Department of Foreign Affairs is providing assistance to the family of Mr. Tollemache. “The Australian Consulate General in Honolulu is working closely with local authorities,” a spokesperson said. “We recognize the continuing anguish of the man’s family and loved ones.”
