Who is Dillon Reeves? Wiki, Biography, Age, Family, Save the Life of his Classmates and bus driver

Dillon Reeves was on his way home from Carter High School in Warren, Massachusetts, along with 66 other students when the bus driver became dizzy and passed out Wednesday afternoon. A heroic seventh grader saved the lives of his classmates after taking control of a school bus when the driver was knocked unconscious at the wheel.

Surveillance footage showed the driver notifying others on his radio that he was feeling ‘dizzy’ and that he was going to stop. Before he could stop himself, he began to shake before falling onto the wheel. For several seconds, the bus continued slowly in a straight line until Reeves ran in front to take control. The brave student quickly found the brake pedal and parked the bus on Masonic Boulevard.

In the confusion, Reeves still had the means to tell his friends to call 911, a video posted by WXYZ showed. No one was hurt during the horrifying incident, but students can be heard screaming in the footage as Reeves slammed on the brakes.

The bus driver was transported to a local hospital where she remains under care. Warren Consolidated School officials held a press conference to praise Reeves’ heroic act.

He stood up, assessed the situation, and saw that the driver had passed out. This was an extraordinary act of bravery,” Superintendent Robert Livernois said. He “jumped out of his seat, dropped his backpack, ran to the front, grabbed the steering wheel, and stopped the bus.”

Reeves did not speak at the press conference and humbly stayed behind. The teen’s proud parents spoke on his behalf and praised him for his quick response. Very, very proud. This is overwhelming for all of us. This is national right now,” said his father, Steve Reeves. He is very attentive to his surroundings.

To honor and thank the 13-year-old boy for his emergency response, locals decorated his family’s front yard with a “hero” banner. When his mother, Ireta, asked where he learned to drive a bus, the teen said, “I watched her do it every day.”

The proud mum added: ‘He’s really a great guy this year. He has come a long way. Excellent grades, experiences at school with friends. Doing something like this fills my heart and makes my heart stop beating.’ On Facebook, Ireta Reeves speculated that something else was at play during her son’s actions.

‘Jesus had a lot to do with the courage and quick action Dillon showed today. For Dillon, it’s just another day. You have no idea how many people are so proud of him today,” she wrote.

Reeves is expected to receive an award from the Warren Police Department.
