Senior MP Julian Knight is facing fresh allegations of sexual misconduct following reports that a series of complaints have been made against the 51-year-old, ranging from inappropriate comments to sexual assault. Four women have complained to parliamentary authorities about Knight since police reportedly dropped an investigation into him.
The new complaints are believed to be about inappropriate comments and behavior, according to the BBC. The broadcaster also claims that five different women and a third witness have made sexual misconduct allegations about him to the police.
The whistleblowers are separated, meaning nine women are said to have filed complaints about him in total. Complaints to the police and parliamentary authorities range from inappropriate comments to sexual assault, according to the station. Some of the complaints allege there was a pattern of behavior, with Knight reaching out to the women on social media to offer them professional support before making inappropriate comments or approaches, the station said.
MP Julian Knight Faces new misconduct allegations
Mr. Knight, MP for Solihull, strongly denies any wrongdoing. He has been contacted for comment. He has said a ‘one-time’ and ‘unsubstantiated’ complaint about him was made to the Metropolitan Police last October.
The force dropped the investigation last month, saying no arrests had been made, but his attempt to restore the whip was rebuffed by more complaints. At the time, a spokesman for Chief Whip Simon Hart said complaints would be forwarded to detectives “if appropriate.”
Knight told the PA news agency: “As I have repeatedly said, I am fully aware of the circumstances of the single complaint made against me to the Metropolitan Police and the motivations of those involved in making it.

‘This baseless complaint was dismissed by the police without even feeling the need to interview me, which they never did. ‘I have not been made aware of any details of the allegations allegedly subsequently made against me to any parliamentary authority.
“I am also not the subject of any investigation by Parliament’s Independent Complaints and Complaints Scheme. “If I become the subject of such an investigation, I will fully and publicly defend myself against any accusation.
“In the meantime, it is deplorable that, despite the police decision, I continue to be the subject of what appears to be a smear campaign carried out through leaks, false innuendos, and briefings.”
