Kind-hearted Anne Shields brought the dog home to Spain after finding it starving but was left with “catastrophic” injuries to its head and arm after it turned on her four days later. A vet warned a British grandmother she was killed by a stray dog she had picked up not to take care of it because it was dangerous, Spanish police have revealed.
Police confirmed that she has identified the owner of the stray canine and is investigating him on suspicion of manslaughter. Police had to shoot the animal to rescue former security guard Anne, but she died at the hospital.

The officers also discovered that he had had dogs with similar characteristics without the necessary protection and care. ‘The detectives conducted an investigation at his home and observed the places where the dog could have escaped, as the suspect himself acknowledged in his statement.

Her daughter Sarah, 43, of Preston, said after the death of her widowed mother: “She was an animal lover and she couldn’t bear the thought of putting Choccy back on the streets.”
“His intention for her had never been to keep the dog, but all the animal shelters were full. ‘She was taking care of him until she found someone who could take him.
