Zac Taylor Wiki, Biography
The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Cincinnati Bengals 23-20 on Sunday night in the AFC Championship game, advancing to their third Super Bowl in the past four years. A Harrison Butker 45-yard field goal with just seconds to go sealed the victory for Kansas City.
Bengals head coach Zac Taylor described how the team was feeling after the loss and expressed optimism that the team can make another long playoff run next year.
“It’s a special organization, special people running it, a special group of coaches, a special group of players,” Taylor said. “We love representing our city and our fan base, and it’s time to get back to work.”
Taylor was asked about quarterback Joe Burrow’s intentional ground call late in the fourth quarter that set up a long third down for Cincinnati.
“It’s hard to tell, I don’t know,” Taylor said.

Taylor also addressed wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase’s spectacular catch early in the fourth quarter that set up a game-tying touchdown run by Samaje Perine.
“Awesome, great play,” Taylor said. “Joe just put him up and let him make a play, and they were doubling him up, so he just double-teamed. Ja’Marr does what Ja’Marr does.”
Burrow took five sacks in the game, but Taylor said the offensive line rallied as the game progressed.
“I thought they really rallied, I thought they gave us a great opportunity. I know they got pressured, but it’s a very good defence, it’s a pressure defence, they had a good front and I thought our line really fought hard and gave us a great chance to win that game.”
Taylor spoke about the emotions of watching the Chiefs celebrate their trip to the Super Bowl as the Bengals’ season came to a close.
“Our goal is to win the Super Bowl, so to be seconds away from going back there is horrible,” Taylor said. Taylor concluded his press conference by saying how grateful he was to coach the Bengals and be a part of another long playoff run.
“Just appreciate every second we get with these guys in practice and in meetings,” Taylor said. “It’s such a fun group, they love the ball, they love each other. It’s a great honor to be the coach of these guys.”
