Identification of suspects in the shooting death of a 70-year-old woman
The video shows one of the men approaching the driver’s side of Ruzich’s vehicle and starting to shoot at his car. Ruzich tries to reverse drive to escape but crashes into a nearby street sign. Both suspects then approach Ruzich’s car with weapons in hand, before one of them runs back to his own vehicle.
According to the police, both suspects are black men. One was seen wearing black clothing and a black face mask, while the other was wearing a light-colored hoodie, light pants, and black shoes with a light face mask.

“Everyone came here to celebrate my mom. Everyone should come here to see their neighbors and help raise their neighbors’ children,” Ruzich’s daughter said. “Maybe they needed a mom like my mom. Maybe they needed a grandmother Jo and her block didn’t have one.”
A steady stream of people arrived Tuesday to visit the makeshift memorial in front of the store where Ruzich spent much of her time serving the community.
