Police said Darius was visiting his father when he disappeared. He was last seen walking to a nearby Dollar General store around 2:30 p.m. Friday. He left his phone at home, according to relatives.
He was last seen on West Tennessee Street and Blountstown Highway on Friday afternoon. His family says he walked to the Family Dollar at 2:30 pm but never returned.
Search dogs tracked his scent to nearby Dunkin ‘Donuts, where a search party was formed.
On Saturday night, concerned family friends and community members searched for the teenager who was visiting his father from Sanford. On Sunday afternoon, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement issued a Missing Child Alert for the missing 13-year-old boy.
Body found
His family said his body was found behind the Walmart on Tennessee Street around midnight Sunday.
The Tallahassee Police Department has yet to confirm the information, but Swain’s aunt, Dawn Burke, has.
