Nowadays, ChrisFix owns the biggest car fixing channel in the world, but his massive fame is in huge contrast to the mystery surrounding his identity, as not only does he refrain from revealing much about his personal life to his audience but doesn’t show his face to them either.

ChrisFix’s content is very simple, often taking his audience through very thorough tutorials that everyone can follow. Although other YouTubers with similar levels of fame have had their identity revealed by fans or malicious followers, that’s not the case with ChrisFix. As he affirmed, his fans are ‘very respectable’ in the sense that they always ask for pictures and make sure to hide details about him, such as his license place, when they post said pics. As Chris reasoned, his audience is solely interested in the educational content he provides, and not in his personal life, and that speaks volumes about how much he’s appreciated by his fans.

Interestingly enough, ChrisFix’s career on YouTube didn’t start with him trying to become an online star. He started his channel in 2008, and used it to share videos of fishing, and hanging out with his friends.

Though those early videos can no longer be found on his channel, it’s not necessary to watch them to see the huge improvement that his channel has had over the years. His first car-related video was shared in January 2010, and was entitled “Corvette Sights and Sounds”, which had him driving his 1996 Torch Red C4 Corvette, and showing parts of his face as he drove it.

Later in 2022, Chris revealed in an interview with Corvette Forum that the red ‘Vette was  second-hand and his first car ever. He used to drive to college and back, and as its parts started breaking down, he resolved to learn how to fix them himself ,because he wanted ‘the job done right’. Back when he was interviewed, Chris still owned the car, and affirmed that the Corvette community had been very supportive of him throughout his process.

These days, Chris no longer focuses on Corvettes, but on a wide variety of cars to fix. He also offers helpful tips for everything car-related, such as preventing one’s car’s door from getting stuck during the winter – it’s amazing to see how far he has come from those early days.

Far gone are the days when ChriFix’s YouTube channel was a niche place which a few people accessed on the internet to get good advice about fixing their cars. It’s not only the fact that he’s well over the 10 million subscribers mark that makes this evident, but also the fact that his content has wildly improved in quality.

Nonetheless, one thing about ChrisFix is that he keeps his videos true to the essence that set him apart from other channels in the first place. That also means that he’s humble, and always grateful for the appreciation of his fans, proudly admitting that he does all of it because of the comments he receives from people who save money after following his car-fixing tips.
