Maryland Sheriff Charles Jenkins and nearby gun dealer Robert Justin Krop were recently indicted on government charges for attempting to illicitly purchase automatic rifles and lease them for profit. Jenkins and Krop have been charged with using false reports from the Frederick Area Sheriff’s Office and mentioning automatic weapons for appraisal and display.
Jenkins marked the files, which were redacted by Krop. Similar reports were used to supply the weapons, which were then leased to Krop’s customers. The Frederick District Sheriff’s Office arranged a public interview a couple of hours after the indictment, and Rep. Todd Wivell said:
“Sheriff Jenkins continues to take the place of our sheriff, and will do so no matter how competent he is. In any case, he will maintain an entry strategy. In any case, he will speak. He has been encouraged by his management not to discuss what is happening in any way.”
A statement was also read in favor of Charles Jenkins that he does not want to comment on the case after being encouraged by his lawyer and will continue to serve as sheriff. According to Fox News, he mentioned that he expects his representatives, prison guards and staff to remain the true professionals that they are.
Robert Justin Krop and his business have been allowed to purchase and place assault rifles at some events. This incorporates the use of firearms as exhibits for potential police officers.
According to the arraignment, Krop and Charles Jenkins attempted to conduct an illegal firearms acquisition with the help of misleading reports on sheriff’s office letterhead that called for automatic weapons to be evaluated and displayed in the workplace. However, its main objective was to lease the weapons to its clients and acquire some benefit from August 2015 to May 2022.
Krop drew up the records and after Jenkins marked them, they sent them to sellers, dealers and producers, citing the guns as for display and evaluation.
According to the Division of Equity, Krop’s business offered Jenkins political support. The prosecution also made reference to the fact that the company obtained benefits of more than $100,000.
A representative for Maryland Governor Wes Moore expressed that they will offer their full assistance in the examination, saying that Jenkins has been charged with some extreme charges and that they anticipate that policing should be fair and follow fair dealing.
“No one is exempt from the laws that apply to everyone else; We expect high standards from all public authorities and are confident that our establishments will work both to safeguard the privileges of guilty parties and to protect the interests of the residents of the Frederick district.”Charles Jenkins began serving as the organization’s delegate in 1990 and was re-elected to a fifth term as sheriff the previous fall. He is currently 66 years old. Krop, on the other hand, is the administrator of gun-related organizations in the Frederick area, according to the Justice Department.
