1) Raúl Ponce-Rocha did not even want to kill her

Raúl, assuming that no one would be in the apartment, burst in. He was planning to steal Breanna’s underwear. He didn’t plan to kill her, but when he realized she was also home at the time, he attacked Schneller.

Raúl seized an iron shaft and stabbed Breanna several times in various parts of her body.

2) Ponce-Rocha’s DNA was found on the iron handle

Ponce-Rocha denied it outright when questioned about the murder, despite evidence pointing in his direction.

After Ponce-Rocha’s conviction, Ramírez went into complete isolation. According to investigators, the murder of his girlfriend was difficult for him to accept. However, the building was five minutes from his workplace and he was gone for about 25 minutes. Ponce-Rocha could not account for his absence for another 20 minutes.
