Simmons was not by any means associated with the misdeeds. He was chased for attempted disrupted attack on two points less than 60 days after his capture. He was found liable by a jury of 11 white men and sentenced to 100 years in prison.

After his conviction, Vincent was sentenced to Louisiana State Penitentiary, also known as Angola. Since the day he went to prison, he has been trying to overturn his conviction.

In 1993, 16 years after his conviction, he was finally given a duplicate of the indictment plea and discovered facts that had not been seen or heard in the beginning.
