Below Deck season 10 is set to welcome a new deck stew, Tyler Walker. He will take the place of Camille Lamb, who was recently laid off. In the previous episode, Captain Sandy Yawn let Camille go after the latter failed to work as a team. In addition, her rude behavior and attitude were the main reason why the captain fired her.
In Below Deck Season 10 Episode 10, Sandy will inform the crew members that a new deck stew is joining the yacht, St. Davis.
Chief Stew Fraser Olender is very happy with the new member, as he said in a confessional:
“Thank God! I’m in desperate need of another stew. I know a couple of boats he’s worked on and Tyler definitely has more experience than both girls put together and that fills me with confidence. I feel hopeful.”
The preview video for the new episode ended with Tyler arriving by boat at the yacht.
Tyler Walker is a 24-year-old butler from South Africa.
Bravo has yet to upload Tyler Walker’s official bio to the site. He is reportedly a 24-year-old butler with experience working on yachts. The new cast member’s Instagram posts make it clear that he is an outdoorsman who enjoys surfing, partying and sailing.
According to his LinkedIn profile, he hails from Grahamstown, Eastern Cape, South Africa. Although his job profile indicates that he is a motor yacht steward, he has activated the “open for work” segment for “butler and property manager roles.” An Instagram post tagged deck stew showed that he got his butler training from SABA-International Butler Academy, South Africa.
On LinkedIn, his past experiences did not include St. Davis from Below Deck, but he did mention other motor yachts, such as the Formosa and Rahil.
According to his resume, as shown in Below Deck, he has worked as a third steward, second steward, and even head janitor. His work in sailing has taken him around the world to places like Costa Rica, the Bahamas, Mexico, the United States and Canada.
In a preview for episode 10, Captain Sandy called Chief Stew Fraser Olender and Bosun Ross McHarg to her cabin and informed them that Tyler would be joining the team as deck stew.
While the team leaders were happy to read Tyler’s resume, Sandy asked the two to discuss the new member’s duties among themselves and asked them not to put him in the laundry business.
The interior team, consisting of stews Alissa Humber and Hayley De Sola Pinto, were enthusiastic about the new deck stew. In the preview clip, they were seen praying and hoping that Tyler wasn’t like Camille.
Why was Camille Lamb fired from the lower deck?
Since the season 10 premiere episode of Below Deck, Camille Lamb was seen being rude to her colleagues, especially Alissa Humber. Until last week’s episode, the two were seen constantly embroiled in heated arguments.
It wasn’t just Alissa, but head chef Fraser and chef Rachel Hargrove were also disappointed in Camille’s work. When Captain Sandy joined the team after Captain Lee Rosbach took a break due to a health issue, she noticed Camille’s unprofessional behavior towards her teammates.
After several conversations and warnings, Captain Sandy decided to fire Camille in episode 9. The deck stew didn’t leave the ship quietly as she threw shade at the captain, Fraser, Ross, and chef Rachel before leaving.
In the meantime, she’s been replaced by a new deck stew, Taylor Walker, who is set to join the crew on Below Deck season 10 episode 10.
