On October 15, 1990, West Virginia State Trooper Bruce Sloan received a call at 8:40 p.m. from Harry Joe Johnson, a representative of TEMAC Inc. On his way to the TEMAC office he discovered that Tammy, the Operations Manager, had received the call. He further stated that Tod had gone to Meadow Bridge to serve a warrant for his former girlfriend, Edie Grimes, for misdemeanor and robbery.
