Residents of Germantown, Maryland were all too stunned when 21-year-old college student Asia Adams was ruthlessly murdered in her home in November 2004. Examination Discovery’s ‘Manslaughter City: Germantown Tragedy’ delivers a top-to-bottom investigation into the difficult subtleties of his demise. We should find out more about the famous case and how her killers were given a fair consequence, okay?
How did Asia Adams die? Asia Adams was a 21-year-old brain research student at West Chester University in Chester County, Pennsylvania. She was a substitute intern who wanted to focus on nursing from now on. Asia was described by all as a warm, friendly and caring person, and she was extraordinarily close to her mother, Shelah Harper. Within days of the episode, the young understudy had come home from school to visit her mother in Germantown.
During that visit in November 2004, Shelah went on a business trip while Asia stayed at home. Be that as it may, things took a shocking turn when on the morning of November 8, 2004, her neighbors heard a sound and saw smoke coming from the second floor of the house. By the time firefighters and police arrived on the scene, a horrific sight awaited them.
The body of a lady was found in one of the rooms on the next floor. Besides the fact that he was severely wasted, however, he was also stripped from the waist up from her. Upon further evaluation, they understood that the individual had actually died from numerous gash wounds and a cut to the throat and that there were injuries to the neck and head. In this way, the fire was started on purpose to hide the traces of the executioner. After Shelah returned, the victim was recognized as Asia, who was killed on the night of November 7, 2004.
Who killed Asia Adams? When the police began their examination, they observed Asia’s bag on the ground floor, which was missing money and Mastercard cards. Additionally, Shelah saw that there had been some withdrawals from various ATMs using the cards. The police were unable to track any reconnaissance, as the cameras were not working. Furthermore, Sela’s contribution was totally excluded.
However, police followed up on an urgent lead when Asia’s partner, Alexis Bethea Lopes, approached them and told them about a man named Napoleon, who the murdered stand-in was dating at the time of her death. She had met him in town and the couple had been together for a couple of months since August 2004. When police began searching for Napoleon, Alexis pointed them to Simeon Bozic, a close associate of the suspect.
After conducting a personal investigation, police discovered that Simeon had a criminal record that included a suspended driving license and theft charges. When Simeon was not found at his mother’s house, the police went to talk to April Strode, who was supposed to be Napoleon’s ex-wife. Then, at that point, he revealed that his real name was Thomas Strode and that their marriage lasted less than a year. Further examination found that Thomas had also recently been charged with theft and drug possession.
A couple of days after the fact, the police received a call from Simeon himself who admitted that he and Thomas had killed Asia. According to the above, they were at Asia’s house the night of the murder, when she out of the blue advised them to stop fighting. As she was trying to lock down the house and activate the alert, Thomas hit her in the head with a dumpster. Then, at that moment, he started stabbing at her chest and when she forgot about it, he and Simeon dragged her into the storm cellar. During this, Asia’s jeans were ripped off her and she was put on a seat in the basement.
Whenever the young woman found out, Simeon claimed that Thomas hit her in the face with a digging tool and forced him to do the same. Thereafter, Thomas “weakened” him to slit Asia’s throat and they injured her multiple times. Every time she died, the team would take $500, Mastercards and keys from her wallet and go out. They came back the next morning, wrapped her in a blanket, and took her to the front room on the next floor. After putting her to bed, they set fire to the house to kill her followers.
On November 15, 2004, Thomas and Simeon were captured and boarded as the night wore on. At last, the two admitted to being associated with Asia’s demise and were charged the next day with first-degree murder, robbery, unlawful conflagration, weapons-related offenses, and related crimes. Thomas further stated in her admission that Asia was killed as a result of a dispute with her over him and Simeon.
Where could Thomas Strode and Simeon Bozic be today? In November 2007, Simeon Bozic was indicted on all of the charges listed above, but was offered a plea deal to assert against Thomas Strode as compensation for avoiding capital punishment. Thomas was also sentenced and agreed to relinquish writing privileges to him in exchange for not receiving the death penalty. He showed no bow or affirmation in his preliminary, but after being asked if he repented, he said that he “had shown his repentance to God in his cell block three years before.”
However, in October 2017, Simeon attempted to challenge the authenticity of his jail sentence in an appeal to the court. However, he was killed. As of now, both Thomas and Simeon are serving life sentences with no possibility of appeal: the former at SCI Dallas and the latter at SCI Greene in Pennsylvania.
