Thomas Girardi is an attorney and a founder with Robert Keese of Girardi & Keese, a downtown Los Angeles law firm. Girardi graduated from Loyola High School (Los Angeles) in 1957. He received his undergraduate degree from Loyola Marymount University in 1961, his J.D. degree from Loyola Law School in 1964, and an LL.M. from New York University in 1965. In 1970, Girardi became the first attorney in the state of California to win a $1 million-plus award for a medical malpractice case.
Girardi has handled major cases against the former Lockheed Corp (now the Lockheed Martin Corp.), Pacific Gas & Electric Co, Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, and Hollywood’s seven major movie studios.
In a notable case against Pacific Gas & Electric, the utility company agreed to pay $460 million to 650 residents of the desert community of Hinkley, California. The residents blamed incidents of cancer and other diseases on contaminated water leaked from a gas pumping station.
This case was the inspiration for the film Erin Brockovich (2000) starring Julia Roberts. “That particular case revolutionized people’s thinking about all the toxic things they are exposed to,” he told Attorney at Law Magazine. Girardi also served as an adviser on the film. In 2003, he received the honor of being inducted into the Trial Lawyer Hall of Fame by the California State Bar.
According to his website, he is a Member of the Board of Directors and former President of the prestigious International Academy of Trial Lawyers, an invitation-only worldwide organization, limited to 500 trial lawyers. Girardi is also the first trial lawyer to be appointed to the California Judicial Council, the policymaking body of the state courts.

The messages include telling the married lawyer, “Tonight was fantastic. Really. But it would be a whole lot better if I were f–king you.”
Another message read, “Miss you babe. Makeup s**ex?” along with several requests for Girardi to pay a Dr. David Matlock, with Bigalow threatening, “I can ask my new boyfriend to pay if it’s a problem. He’s got big dough.”
While some fans have spoken up in Jayne’s defense, others believe the reality star is attempting to distract from her own legal woes, as she and Girardi were recently accused of embezzlement.
Bigelow is a judge for the 2nd District Division 8 of the California Court of Appeal. She’s had the position since 2008 after being appointed by then-Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Bigelow. Jayne alleged that Girardi was paying for her plastic surgery and bills at the department store, Saks Fifth Avenue. So, who exactly is Tricia A. Bigelow?

It’s “XXpen$ive” to be Erika Jayne, but her husband is reportedly broke. Tom Girardi testified in an unspecified case this fall that he doesn’t have nearly as much money as creditors think he possesses, the Los Angeles Times reported on Thursday.

The outlet quoted him as saying, “At one point I had about 80 million or 50 million in cash. That’s all gone. I don’t have any money.”
The famed lawyer, 81, is in the midst of multiple lawsuits accusing him of mishandling clients’ funds. Most recently, the judge in the case against him on behalf of Lion Air flight victims froze his assets.
Girardi is also in the process of divorcing the “RHOBH” star. She filed to end their marriage on Election Day and his former law firm partner sued to dissolve another business venture that they had together.
Meanwhile, Girardi’s lawyers claimed that he suffered a “serious illness” in recent months that required hospitalization. They alleged that his hospitalization was the “mistake” that caused some families to not be paid in full as part of a settlement.
