We’ve noted this before, but one difficult aspect regarding This Is Us season 6 is realizing that tough times are ahead. Specifically, we’re aiming at the feeling of seeing Kate and Toby break up. We perceive that something along these lines will eventually happen, and it is a question of when the scholars will get us to that point.
So how much time will it take? What amount would be recommended for us to be stressed at the moment? In fact, there’s a decent piece to go into here…

Most likely, the split won’t happen for the next two or three episodes; there are still a couple of things to come to get us to that point. We realize that sooner or later Chrissy Metz and Chris Sullivan’s characters are going to go on a field trip to fix a few things. We simply must express that things do not go as expected. From that moment on, there will also be a circumstance with the smoker, which will make the relationship stop being a bluff.
So while we think the writers are going to take as much time as they need here, they also need to put some energy into showing Kate’s relationship with Phillip creating, no less than a couple of episodes, right?
We wouldn’t be surprised if things unravel with Kate and Toby in March, and we have the rest of the term to control the outcome. Things will be intense, truly extreme. We just trust that the two of them will figure out how to be content eventually.
