The artist revealed how she surprised her soul mate with the news in a chat with People, sharing that she made her a “little gift box and put the pregnancy test in there along with other petty new parent goodies.”

“Exactly when she opened it and saw the proof, and it was obviously made up, it said ‘pregnant.’ And she just recently she started screaming, she was very close, in person and stimulated and we were crying and exceptionally, genuinely happy,” she added.

One couple used personalized scratch-off cards to break the news to their family, which had unremarkable results as it left specific people more perplexed than stimulated. “Basically, they were trying so hard to make some money, which obviously says we’re going to have a child, and they just dodged it,” she said.

Now that everyone is relying on speed, Parris shared that the entire family is “very much up to speed” on welcoming their new family member, and the planned guardians will be comfortable with the gender of their child.
