Although deputies did not release the slain suspect’s name, authorities had charged Boone earlier this week with false imprisonment, assault, and other crimes, according to court records obtained by the LA Times.
Police told the Times that none of the detectives nor their vehicles were equipped with cameras, but investigators are working to recover footage from home video systems in the area.
Investigation Report
Local news platform, the Rosamond Community Watchdog, posted surveillance video of the incident showing vehicles trailing an SUV into the housing complex parking lot.
Shouts of “Hands Up!” are repeatedly heard followed by gunshots.

The sheriff’s department posted to Facebook that the investigation is ongoing and “there is no additional information available at this time.”
The department also stated that multiple independent investigations are underway.
“Whenever a deputy-involved shooting occurs involving Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies, and a person is struck by gunfire, multiple independent investigations immediately begin at the scene,” the post reads.
A spokesperson for the department told Heavy.com that more information surrounding the incident will be posted online once the coroner’s report is complete.
The killing comes on the heels of Fuller’s death on June 10, which generated national attention over how the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department initially handled the situation.

Fuller was found hanging from a tree near the Palmdale city hall. Although the county medical examiner initially dubbed his death as a suicide, he backtracked after hundreds took to the streets demanding a full investigation.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department announced Monday that Fuller’s cause of death has been deferred pending further investigation from Attorney General Xavier Becerra’s office.
Becerra will seek to determine whether any foul play was involved.
