In the television series Breaking Bad, Ted Beneke, cousin of actor Christopher, served as president and owner of Beneke Fabricators, the business left to him by his father. Beneke was Skyler White’s former employer and boyfriend. He has twin girls and is divorced. He took over the family business in his later years and formed close ties with his workers.
When Beneke Fabricators’ finances began to suffer, he turned to a larger fraud in an effort to preserve the company by manufacturing the books. In the fifth season of the TV show “Breaking Bad,” Saul Goodman goes to the A1A car wash to tell Skyler White that Ted has a problem.
As soon as Skyler found out about her tax scam, Ted tried to get her help fabricating the records. However, the IRS found out about the company’s tax fraud in Season 4 of Breaking Bad.
If found guilty and sentenced to prison, Beneke could have gone bankrupt. To avoid harsh punishment, he was forced to pay more than $600,000 in back taxes and penalties. Skyler gave Ted the money he needed to do it, but decided not to use it to fix the problem.
Then, under the direction of dubious attorney Saul Goodman, Skyler instructed two bodyguards to force Ted to write a check to the IRS (Bob Odenkirk). When he tried to run away out of fear, he tripped on a rug and seriously injured his neck.
Even though Ted was believed to be dead, Skyler visited him in the hospital during season 5 and promised to keep all of her and her family’s secrets to himself.
Ted Beneke actually came out of his coma, according to Saul, after Skyler, who was unaware of his previous injury, initially believed he had tragically died.
