Amritsar, Sep 12 (IANS) Sukhpreet Kaur, the wife of Sarabjit Singh, who was killed in a Lahore prison in 2013, was killed in an accident on Monday. According to police reports, Sukhpreet Kaur was riding a bicycle when she “accidentally” fell off it in the city of Fatehpur, near Amritsar.
She was rushed to the emergency clinic where she died. The last rituals of Sukhpreet will be held in the city of Ella Bhikhiwind on Tuesday. In June this year, Sarabjit’s sister, Dalbir Kaur, who had sent the ‘Save Sarabjit’ mission to free her brother from prison in Pakistan, died following a heart failure.
Prominently, Sarabjit Singh had moved to Pakistan while intoxicated in 1990. He was a squatter in Bhikhiwind, a border town. In Pakistan, he was sentenced to death for his alleged ramifications in a Manjit Singh fake personality bombing case.

The court had coordinated the hanging of Sarabjit Singh on April 1, 2008, but due to global tension, her execution was postponed indefinitely. However, it so happens that Sarabjit Singh was persecuted by his relatives detained in a Lahore prison in 2013. He died at Jinnah Hospital in Lahore on May 1, 2013.
