Born October 16, 1980, Suzanne Brigit Bird is a former professional basketball player from the United States who spent her entire career with the Seattle Storm of the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA).

Bird, who was selected by the Storm for the first time in the WNBA draft in 2002, is considered one of the league’s all-time greatest players. Bird is the only WNBA player with championships in three different decades as of 2021. As a basketball operations associate, she worked in the front office for the NBA’s Denver Nuggets. She has also participated in three Russian teams. She is a citizen of both the US and Israel.

She won New York Daily News, New York State, and WBCA Player of the Year awards while in high school. She won the Wade Trophy and the Naismith Award for College Player of the Year in 2002 while playing for the undefeated University of Connecticut team.

She led her team to a 114-4 record during her time at UConn, finishing the season first in three-point field goal percentage and free throw percentage, second in assists and steals, and a three-time winner of the Nancy Liberman. Award as the best point guard in the nation.

Bird announced her retirement from professional basketball after the 2022 WNBA season on June 16, 2022. Her season ended on September 7, 2022, when the Storm were defeated in the playoffs by the Las Vegas Aces.
