Shihab Thangal was President of the Kerala State of the Indian Union Muslim League and President of the Darul Huda Islamic Academy. In addition, he was the Vice President of the EK group of Samastha Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulama, one of the Sunni Muslim associations in Kerala.

Thangal was committed to the Indian Union Muslim League ideological group. He was an inhabitant of Panakkad Malappuram. For his education, he had gone to the Arab university Jami’a Nooriyya.

The school is a strict higher educational organization of Sunni Muslims from Kerala, India, established by Sayyid Abdurrahiman Bafaki Tangal on Waqf land ceded by Karachi Bapu Hajji.
