Who was Richard Kuklinski? Born on April 11, 1935, the second of four children born to Stanisław “Stanley” Kuklinski and Anna McNally, Richard Kuklinski experienced childhood in a deeply strict but unstable family in New Jersey. His family was fiercely oppressive, according to Anthony Bruno’s ‘The Iceman: True Story of a Cold-Blooded Killer’, and Richard ventured to regard his mother as a “sickness” that wiped out everything she came into contact with. That’s part of the reason he dropped out of school after the eighth grade and proceeded to seek a calling in menial positions before venturing into the world of grand theft and larceny guilt.

During the 1960s, Richard began making bootleg movie duplicates while working in a film lab, at which point he realized that trading the x-rated ones, along with drugs, would really pay off. He was allegedly caught for passing a terrible check at the time, but the charge was dropped with virtually no lengthy legal action once he agreed to take over the money he owed. However, from that point on, the criminal began to spearhead a robbery ring with a couple of other people before allegedly teaming up for coordinated misdeeds, eventually leading him to commit murder as well.

Richard not only killed George Malliband during a meeting to sell him tapes in 1980, he also killed Louis Masgay in mid-1981 and drug specialist Paul Hoffman in mid-1982 for transparent tape and drug-related reasons, individually. In addition, he killed two of his associates in the robbery ring, Gary Smith (in late 1982) and Daniel Deppner (in 1983), to save himself from appearing on the specialists’ radar. Actually at that time, in the fall of 1983, the remaining parts of Louis were recovered from a nearby park, where he had been dumped after being stored in an ice chest for a long time, earning him the nickname “The Man from Ice”. .

Also, in 2003, after confessing to the 1980 murder of New York City police analyst Peter Calabro, the accused killer received an additional 30 years in a correctional facility.

Despite all that, Richard figured out how to stay in the public eye by appearing in two HBO narrations (“The Iceman Tapes: Conversations with a Killer” and “The Iceman Confesses: Secrets of a Mafia Hitman”), as well as addressing countless scholars, specialists and crime analysts. However, the most surprising point of view is that he gloated about being a mob hitman with over 100 kills and the various techniques he used to kill: cyanide fix (his first choice), guns, ice picks, projectiles hand, crossbows; trimming tools; and bombs attached to toys.

After almost twenty years in prison, in October 2005, it was determined that the criminal who at age 14 professed to have committed his first homicide suffered from Kawasaki disease, which causes aggravation of the veins. He was then transferred to St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton, New Jersey for proper care, but on March 5, 2006, the 70-year-old man died of heart failure. A dissection revealed that he had been experiencing coronary heart disease and phlebitis for a long time.
