When police arrived at the crime scene, which was in the parking lot of an Avimor petrol station more than 25 kilometres from Nampa, they discovered Urrutia inside one of the cars there.

Urrutia was “slumped over in the automobile, which was running but in park,” according to the police. Urrutia was taken out of the car by emergency personnel, who also gave him CPR until paramedics could arrive. Urrutia was taken to a nearby hospital by emergency personnel, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead just after 8 a.m., according to the announcement.

The Ada County Coroner’s Office ruled that Urrutia’s death was a homicide caused by a “sharp force injury wound to the chest,” authorities stated. Cuevas, the main suspect in Urrutia’s death, was found later that day by ACSO deputies at a petrol station about 20 miles south of the scene of Urrutia’s stabbing.
