Prakash Padukone’s Career Line Prakash started playing badminton very early when his father urged him to do so. He was a legal shuttler who appeared in the 1962 state Junior title in Karnataka. In the same year he also won the Danish and Swedish Opens. After beating his deity, Ruby Hartono, he won the Swedish Open. Prakash is said to have taken home 15 championships sometime between 1980 and 1985.

Prakash resigned from serious games in 1991 and became the director of the Badminton Association of India. From 1993 to 1996, he was the head coach of the Indian badminton team. Prakash Padukone, along with Vimal Kumar and Vivek Kumar, founded the Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy (PPBA) in 1994. In 2001 Prakash helped establish Olympic Gold Quest, a non-benefit association dedicated to promoting the Olympic Games in India. The BAI Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Prakash in 2018.
