Phnom Penh, Sept 12 (IANS) Cambodian National Assembly Speaker Heng Samrin set out to travel to the neighboring nations of Vietnam and Laos on Monday, according to an official statement.
During his visit to Vietnam from Monday to Wednesday, Samrin will meet with Vuong Dinh Hue, administrator of the National Assembly of Vietnam, and meet General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Nguyen Phu Trong, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Prime Minister Pham Minh. Chinh, the Xinhua news organization quoted the explanation as saying.
The top Cambodian lawmaker will then be in Laos from Wednesday to Friday, where he will meet with President Thongloun Sisoulith and Prime Minister Phankham Viphavanh. He will also meet with other high-level Lao legislators.

“The visits are to strengthen and grow the camaraderie and participation between Cambodia and Vietnam, as well as between Cambodia and Laos,” said Leng Peng Long, secretary general of the Cambodian National Assembly.
