PC James Stonehouse Wiki – PC James Stonehouse Biography
PC James Stonehouse, 24, who serves with the Greater Manchester Police (GMP), appeared at Preston Crown Court on Wednesday. A serving police officer will stand trial after denying he raped a woman last year. Stonehouse, who covered his face in a black hoodie and sunglasses as he entered the courthouse, spoke only to confirm her name and plead not guilty when the rape charge was read to him.
The crime allegedly took place in April 2022, but it is not known if Stonehouse was on duty or off duty at the time. Judge Robert Altham bailed Stonehouse out ahead of his conditional trial, which was set for Nov. 11 and is expected to last five to seven days.
GMP said the officer, who was posted to the force’s Oldham division, continues to be suspended from his duties. He was indicted on one count of rape in March, nearly a year after he was initially arrested.
