Paula Marcenaro Solinger is the wife of Johnny Solinger, was an American singer-songwriter best known as the lead vocalist for Skid Row from 1999 to 2015. At the time of their split, Solinger was the band’s longest-serving vocalist, surpassing Sebastian Bach, who was in the band for nine years. During his time in the band, he performed on the albums Thickskin (2003) and Revolutions Per Minute (2006), along with Chapters 1 and 2 of the three-part EP series United World Rebellion, with Chapter 3 to be completed with Solinger’s replacement for ZP Theart on vocals.

Johnny Solinger moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth area when he was a child, where he was exposed to hard rock and country music, and fell in love with them. In 1990, he formed the rock band SOLINGER in Dallas, recording four independent albums: Solinger, Solinger II, Chain Link Fence, and Solinger Live. He enjoyed live performances and radio success throughout the Southwest.

In 1999, Skid Row members Dave “The Snake” Sabo, Rachel Bolan, and Scotti Hill hired Solinger to replace former vocalist Sebastian Bach. In 2000, Skid Row was the opening band of Kiss’s “Farewell Tour.”

In 2008, Solinger pursued a solo country music career. His first country album was only released regionally and is full of country and rock. The album includes the song “You Lie”, which he recorded with his bandmates on Skid Row.

Johnny Solinger died on Saturday, June 26, after being diagnosed with liver failure in May. Johnny was 55 years old. To mourn his death, Skid Row took to his official Instagram page and wrote: “We are saddened to hear the news from our brother Johnny Solinger. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and fans of his. Good luck, Singo. Say hello to Scrappy for us. With love, Rachel Bolan, ZP Theart, Snake Sabo, Rob Hammersmith and Scotti Hill. ”

Bolan also paid tribute to Johnny on her Instagram account by writing, “RIP Singo. Get yourself a piece of pie with Scrappy. ”Along with his former bandmates, several of his fans also expressed their grief on social media, with many wondering about his survivors.

On May 8, Johnny, who was the lead vocalist for Skid Row from 1999 to 2015, had shared about his health on Facebook. He had written: “It is with great regret that I must let everyone know what is happening with me and my health. I was hospitalized for the last month. I have been diagnosed with liver failure. And the prognosis is not so good. As with most musicians, I do not have health insurance and it is very difficult to receive adequate care without it. I am currently on at least seven different medications and need to have fluid that collects in my abdomen drained every other day. I have lost a lot of strength and will also need physical therapy. ”

He also mentioned a fundraiser to get financial help in treating him. He added, “I am kindly asking those of you who could help put this together to step forward. I wouldn’t be asking you all this if I didn’t really need the help, but sadly this is where I am. I appreciate and want everyone to keep me in their thoughts and send me all the healing vibes they can, but I get tired easily so I will ask that you please do not call or text unless absolutely necessary. But please, if you can help in this difficult time, I will thank you with all my heart. I love you all. I will post a link where you can donate very soon, but I wanted to let you know about my condition. ”

Brian Lawrence organized that fundraiser with a goal of $ 100,000. However, when the singer died, the page update read: “Hello, my name is Brian. I hope to raise funds for Johnny Solinger, former singer of the band Skid Row. Johnny just lost the battle with liver failure. We hope to raise funds for his funeral expenses. I want to personally thank everyone who donated during his treatment. You are all a blessing and he was so touched by the outpouring of love. Thank you and God bless you. ”

Twitter was full of tributes for the late singer. One user tweeted: “I’m saddened to hear of the passing of former Skid Row frontman Johnny Solinger.
