Pathum Nissanka is a Sri Lankan adept cricketer who has addressed his country in each of the game’s 3 configurations (Tests, ODIs and T20Is), as a top-request batsman. In the homegrown Sri Lankan circuit, he played for Badureliya Sports Club (2017-2018) and Nondescripts Cricket Club (2019-present) in each of the three arrangements. In the LPL (Lankan Premier League), he showed up for the Colombo Stars (2021).

Pathum first came into the limelight when he held an unbeaten 205-run thump in just 190 balls on a round of the public school cricket title.

In January 2019, when he addressed Sri Lanka An in a first-class series against Ireland A, he was the group’s driving run-scorer. He had scored 258 runs in just 2 games.

The following month, he had completed the 2018/19 time of the Premier League Tournament (the 31st time of the Premier Trophy, Sri Lanka’s homegrown super cricket rivalry) as the main run-scorer for Nondescripts Cricket Club. He had completed the competition with 1,088 runs in just 7 games.

In November 2019, he was selected to the Sri Lankan crew for the men’s cricket competition at the 2019 South Asian Games. Sri Lanka had secured the ‘Silver’ decoration on the occasion, losing in the latter by 7 wickets to Bangladesh.

An unusual event, he made his global presentation to Sri Lanka in each of the game’s 3 configurations (Tests, ODIs and T20Is) around the same time (March 2021) and against a similar resistance (West Indies).

In the second innings of his presentation test game, he had scored 103 runs. This would have simply made him the fourth Sri Lankan batsman in history to have scored for a hundred years during his Test match debut. This was also the most significant 100 years scored by a Sri Lankan batsman in an away game test debut.

During his most memorable performance at a major ICC (International Cricket Council) occasion, the 2021 ICC World T20, he was one of the few exceptionally beautiful places in Sri Lanka’s horrific mission where the group crashed into the rally stage of the competition. He had scored 221 points in 8 games, the seventh highest total in the league.

In January 2022, he won the ‘Player of the Series’ honor for scoring 146 runs (two half-hundreds of them counted) in 3 games in a respective home ODI series against Zimbabwe.

In June 2022, in the third game of a two-sided home ODI series against Australia, he delivered his most memorable hundred years in the ODI draft. His imperious thump of 137 runs (147 balls) had aided Sri Lanka in pursuing a lofty goal of 292 runs. For his presentation he was named ‘Player of the Match’.

The success had given Sri Lanka a compelling 2-1 lead in the series, which they would convert into a 3-2 series win. This was an unusual success for Sri Lanka over Australia – their most memorable mutual series triumphing at home over this resistance in nearly 30 years. More importantly, the success calmed some torment for the cricket-crazed Sri Lankan individuals as they faced their most obviously dire monetary emergency since the freedom that had led the nation to opt for non-payment, costs of fuel and daily necessities skyrocket. the roof, and an extreme shortage of medicines and various foundations.
