American college student Otto Warmbier is arrested in North Korea on charges related to subversion. Otto was born on December 12, 1994 in Cincinnati, Ohio, in the United States. He was an accomplished American college student. Sadly, he passed away on June 19, 2017, at the age of 22.
The student was arrested in North Korea for allegedly trying to steal an educational poster. He was released from North Korea in a coma in June 2017, but passed away shortly after. Otto was released with his family after spending 17 months as a hostage in North Korea and suffered dental damage.
Otto Warmbier’s lower teeth were set toward the back of his mouth, according to his dental records. According to sources, his teeth experienced extreme pressure after his imprisonment in North Korea, which caused bone loss.
He had scars around his mouth, even though autopsy results indicated he was generally healthy. Except for his teeth, all of his physical features were in good shape.
During a tour of North Korea, Warmbier was arrested and found guilty of stealing a propaganda poster from his hotel. Warmbier was arrested for stealing the poster in 2016 while waiting to leave North Korea at Pyongyang International Airport.
Otto received a 15-year prison sentence with hard labor. In addition, he suffered a severe brain injury of unknown origin and fell into a coma, in which he remained until his death.
To be clear, Warmbier had a legitimate reason for his considerable neurological damage after receiving his sentence. It was also found that the mixture of botulism and sleeping pills caused him to go into a coma.
Otto Warmbier’s family will receive more than $240,000 this month thanks to an order from a federal judge in New York. While a federal court in Washington, DC, determined that North Korea must pay the Warmbier family more than $500 million in 2018, according to Judge Lawrence E. Kahn.
Otto passed away after his parents requested that his feeding tube be removed. A 22-year-old man passed away in a hospital on June 19, 2017 at 2:20 p.m. His family requested an autopsy, so it was carried out. However, they carried out an external autopsy, which determined that death was ultimately due to a blood clot, pneumonia, sepsis, or kidney failure.
According to doctors, the young man could have stopped breathing if he had food nausea and was paralyzed by sleeping medications. More than 2,500 people attended Warmbier’s funeral at Wyoming High School on June 22, 2017. Cynthia and Fred Warmbier, Otto’s parents, constantly seek justice for their son.
