Oliwier Kaczmarowska had been missing since the afternoon of Monday, May 22, when he was last seen near the riverbank on The Floor Road Bridge. The body of a missing 15-year-old boy was recovered from a river in Gainsborough, police confirmed Saturday.
His death is not being treated as suspicious, police said. Lincolnshire Police undertook an extensive search effort, including calling on the local community to provide helpful dash cam footage as officers tried to trace his movements before the teenager was last seen.
Underwater search teams and a police drone were also deployed to help with the ‘significant 24-hour effort’ to find the missing boy. Police said a file was now being prepared for the coroner to investigate the circumstances of death.
The officers also asked people “not to speculate on how or why” the teen died and said his family is being supported by specialist officers. A Lincolnshire Police spokesman said: “We are saddened to confirm that after formal identification, the body found in the River Trent yesterday afternoon (May 26) was 15-year-old Oliwier Kaczmarowska.”
