The High Court on Friday coordinated that FIRs enrolled against Times Now writer Navika Kumar – – regarding remarks made by suspended BJP representative Nupur Sharma on Prophet Muhammed during a television banter – – be moved to the IFSO unit of the Delhi Police.
A seat headed by Equity M.R. Shah said that no coercive move ought to be made against Kumar and the FIR enlisted by the Delhi Police to be treated as lead FIR. It further added that course will be material to future FIRs which might be enrolled regarding a similar broadcast.
The top court said the IFSO unit of the Delhi Police will be at freedom to gather material and Kumar can move the Delhi High Court looking for the help of suppress of the FIRs and explained that it has not communicated anything on the benefits of the matter.
The seat said no coercive move will be made against Kumar regarding flow FIRs or the FIRs which may be enlisted in the future concerning similar broadcast for a time of about two months.
The top court depended on the request passed in the Nupur Sharma case. Kumar had moved the top court against numerous FIRs enlisted against her regarding the discussion on the channel. The top court has clubbed FIRs in West Bengal, Maharashtra, and Delhi.
