The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment. On Thursday, Fairfield Superintendent Laurie Noll issued a statement to the Courier: “We extend our deepest condolences to Ms. Graber’s family, friends, and loved ones. At this time, the well-being of our students and staff is ours. Top priority. As a community, we will remain united in this time of tragedy. ”
