NBC affiliate WESH-TV reports that Miya Marcano was spotted around 5 p.m. in the Arden Villas complex located near the University of Central Florida. Police continue their search for a missing 19-year-old woman who was last seen Friday at an apartment complex near an Orlando university.
Marcano was scheduled to catch a flight to Fort Lauderdale later that night, but she never boarded the plane. Her family traveled to Orlando this past weekend to speak with police and officers from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

Marcano’s father, Marlon, told the station that his daughter lived in the complex and worked in the leasing office, but that he did not hear from Miya after she left work. Miya is five feet tall and 130 pounds with brown hair and green eyes.
Orange County agents are searching for a missing 19-year-old teenager, Miya Marcano, who was last seen around 5 p.m. on Friday, September 24, near the University of Central Florida in Orlando, in the apartments of Arden Villas on Arden Villas Boulevard. Agents began searching for Marcano on Sunday, September 26, in the wooded area behind her apartment building. They have confirmed that Marcano weighs 4’9 and weighs about 130 pounds. Marcano lives in the complex and works in the leasing office and she was supposed to take a flight home the day of her disappearance. She, however, never boarded the plane.
Channel 9 approached Marcano’s family on Sunday, September 26, but they were told that they could not speak to the media, as advised by the police, as this is an ongoing investigation. Marcano’s father, however, shared a photo of her on social media saying “this was the shirt she was wearing the last time she was seen, there were signs of fighting in her apartment and she could be in danger.” Speaking of the same, agents declined to share details for now but said they are doing everything they can to find her. The case draws Internet attention, as the news comes shortly after another missing woman turned up dead. Gabby Petito, a 22-year-old vlogger, disappeared after going on a trip with her boyfriend Brian Laundrie. After Petito’s body was found, Laundrie disappeared, prompting a manhunt for him. She is yet to find it.
Marcano’s friends and family held a prayer vigil on September 26 urging the community to come forward and help them find her. The vigil was held at the Arden Villas Apartments, where Marcano was last seen before her disappearance. Community members gathered as Marcano’s family urged them to do their part to help find her daughter.
“All we ask of you is to help us bring Miya home,” Wesh2 quoted Marcano’s grandmother, Joysue Thompson, as saying. “Take her home safely, drop her off, and tell us where she is and we’ll pick her up, just bring her home.” “A lot of sheriffs and everything was in this parking lot and they all intersect,” said Matthew Knapp, who lives near Arden Villas Apartments.’
Knapp confirmed that detectives were searching through trees and near a retention pond at the rear of the apartments. “To be honest, I felt chills because I didn’t know what they were looking for and yesterday the helicopter above us was now searching five or six times circling,” said Juan Castillo, who lives near the apartments.
A spokesman for Orange County deputies said “anyone with even the slightest information is urged to call us.” However, they declined to disclose additional information. Anyone with information on Marcano’s whereabouts has been asked to contact OCSO’s non-emergency number at 407-836-4357. If anyone sees Marcano, they are urged to call 911.
