Kalgoum was born on January 23, 1984 in Huddinge, Sweden. The ice hockey spotlight played for Huddinge IK and AIK IF in HockeyAllsvenskan, Sweden’s second division hockey association.

From 2007 to 2009, he played two seasons in the Austrian Hockey Association for Kapfenberger SV. Monir later played two seasons, from 2009 to 2011, for the English team Milton Keynes Lightning.

The former IIHF title holder is deeply grateful to his more established brother for developing him into the player he is today.
