A Michigan man was taken into custody after his own father reported him for sending nudes to an underage person, Michigan State Police said. Michael Raymond-Ulrich Simmons, 30, was arrested Wednesday, February 2 after Michigan State Police investigated a complaint filed by his father two years ago in October 2020.
The agency’s Computer Crimes Unit conducted a lengthy investigation that included multiple interviews and multiple search warrants to test electronic devices. The investigation ultimately led to the prosecutor’s approval of a three-count felony permit. Michael was booked into the Missaukee County Jail and charged with intentional distribution of sexually explicit material, approaching a child for immoral purposes, and committing a felony using the computer.
