Michael Beschloss is a historian who specialized in the presidency of the United States and is the author of nine books on the presidency. He was born in Chicago, raised in Flossmoor, Illinois, and educated at Eaglebrook School, Phillips Academy (Andover), Williams College, and Harvard University.
The historian has been a frequent commenter on PBS NewsHour and is the presidential historian for NBC News. He is a trustee of the White House Historical Association and the National Archives Foundation.[8] He is also on the board of the Smithsonian National Museum of American History. He has been a trustee of the Thomas Jefferson Foundation (Monticello), the Urban Institute, the Miller Center for Public Affairs at the University of Virginia, and the PEN / Faulkner Foundation. He is also on the advisory board for the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission and was a member of the White House Presidential Scholarship Commission.
