She is back in South Africa ahead of the Love Island finale. And Maya Jama revealed her look ahead of the last episode of Aftersun, which is being filmed live in Cape Town, South Africa on Sunday night. The TV presenter, 28, shared a clip of herself, unveiling her glamorous outfit as she beamed at the camera hours before the show kicked off.

Maya was wearing a showstopping sequin mini dress from Clio Peppiatt, which was covered in a fun print, including a crab, rainbow and flamingos. The star wore her brunette locks in a bouncy blown out style, complete with a glamorous coat of make-up and a pair of gold earrings.

Maya revealed that podcast hosts Sam Thompson and Indiyah Polack had also made it to the villa, as she videoed them arriving on a golf buggy. She also revealed a look at the set, which had been erected outside the villa, just metres away from the contestants enjoying their final night.

It comes after Maya accidentally revealed Will Young and Jessie Wynter would be getting dumped from the Love Island’s semi-final – before the official announcement. In an advert for the Aftersun spin-off show, aired just minutes ahead of the verdict, the presenter, 28, let slip that the couple had been sent home in a giant gaffe.

She said in the teaser: ‘Join me tonight in South Africa live from the villa. Dumped Islanders Will and Jessie and Casey and Rosie will be sharing the goss.’ The TikTok farmer, 23, and his girlfriend, 26, were seen waving towards the camera alongside previous evictees Casey O’Gorman, 26, and Rosie Seabrook, 24.

In a now-deleted Instagram Story, she had also exposed the big news ahead of time.
In a selfie-style video, Will and Jessie could be seen in the background but Maya was quick to remove all traces of the post, which is no longer on her profile.

It comes after Maya split the beans on hosting Love Island and who is her favourite couple to win this year’s winter series next week. Maya appeared on The Jonathan Ross show on Saturday evening, just days before the final, set to air on Monday.

Maya revealed if she will continue to take the helm of the ITV2 show: ‘I’m going to be doing the summer one. It starts in… summer.’ When quizzed who she wants to win, the TV star told the host: ‘I’m not allowed to have favourites.

‘I really like Shaq just because he’s a hopeless romantic and he’s very cute and so in love. But then I also like Tom and Samie, they’re really fun and Tom’s gone on a journey. Of taking the role over from Laura Whitmore, Maya said: ‘I was so nervous. Obviously it’s a very big show, everyone watches it, everyone’s got an opinion.

‘Quite a lot of people online were like, ‘We want Maya to host’. So it felt a bit like, I don’t want to let anyone down. ‘I don’t want it to be like, ‘You guys wanted me to do it and now I’m s**t’. So I felt that pressure, and to get the slow-motion walk right…’ Maya looked effortlessly elegant in a plunging black halterneck waistcoat embellished with gold buttons.

She teamed her gorgeous ensemble with a black panelled skirt and gave herself a few extra inches with a pair of strapped black stilettos The radio DJ accessorised her look with a pair of chunky gold earrings and styled her glossy brunette locks loosely in glamorous waves. She accentuated her natural beauty with lashings of mascara, her signature slick of eyeliner and a touch of brown lipstick.

Talking about her famous sexy strut on the show, she explained: ‘You do a normal strut about three or four times. You have to sexy it up a little bit. ‘Me and my friends the night before I went had a big girls’ night and they were like ‘OK, show us how you’re going to walk.’ ‘As soon as I got there and the camera crew was there, I was like, ‘I can’t do it’, but you do it four or five times and they choose the best.’

After eight weeks of dramatic recouplings, explosive rows and brutal dumpings, the winter series is finally set to draw to a close on Monday night. Maya will be hitting screens live from the villa in Cape Town for the final, with the islanders also live for the first time since entering the reality show.

She has not yet set set off for the southernmost tip of the African continent, but is expected to jet out over the weekend, to give herself and producers time to prepare for the final. The grand final will take place on Monday 13 March, airing live from South Africa on ITV2 and ITVX at 9pm. Extended from the show’s usual hour-long run, the episode will finish up at 10:35pm.

From the turmoil of Casa Amor wreaking havoc on relationships to Aussie Love Island legends Jessie Wynter and Aaron Waters making a return to the show – there was plenty of action to get stuck into. But after another pair of islanders said their goodbyes this week, the end is in sight for our final ten islanders.

During Tuesday evening’s episode, a public vote booted Casey O’Gorman and Rosie Seabrook out of the villa as they were one of the three couples with the least amount of votes. Shaq Muhammad and Tanya Manhenga also found themselves in that bottom three section alongside Will Young and Jessie – suggesting that these two couples could be more vulnerable than others ahead of the final.

Five couples still remain in the villa, with one expected to just miss out on their chance at winning the show in the live final. The remaining couples are currently Kai Fagan and Sanam Harrinanan, Tom Clare and Samie Elishi, Ron Hall and Lana Jenkins, Will and Jessie, and Shaq and Tanya.

Alongside the finalists and Maya, an audience will gather to watch the winning moment in real-life, as the final few days are recapped in pre-recorded segments. Based on the public vote, one lucky couple will be crowned the winners of Winter Love Island during Monday’s live final, and awarded a cushty £50K to share.

While the show previously included a ‘share or steal’ segment to the final, this is likely not to feature this year. Most winners of the show have been handed an envelope each, one with £0 and one with £50K written on it – with the contestant holding the latter being given the decision to keep it all for themselves, or split it with their partner.

But during the 2022 summer edition of the show, winners Ekin-Su Culculoglu and Davide Sanclimenti weren’t given this option, with the money automatically being split. While it hasn’t been confirmed that the segment is scrapped, it is likely that ITV have decided that it is no longer relevant – as every winner before has split the cash.

In addition to the money, islanders are often bombarded with press opportunities, brand partnerships and TV deals upon leaving the villa. Meaning that even if they don’t win the show, most islanders could be headed for a more than satisfactory payday outside of the villa.
